INN AND OUT: A HIKE DOWN WILL APPLE'S ROAD
Mount Magazine State Park
16878 AR-309, Paris
Meeting Place: Visitor Center
Admission: Free
Journey with a park interpreter down historic Will Apple’s Road, a pathway that felt more hooves than tires in its heyday. At the end of this trail, you’ll witness the ruins of what was once a refreshing spring-fed swimming pool, Buckman’s Pool. The spur which reaches Buckman’s Pool is short but steep and moderately strenuous with uneven terrain. Seasonally appropriate attire, drinking water, sturdy hiking shoes, insect repellent, and sunscreen (although this hike is very shaded), are all highly recommended.
