2023 CHOCOPALOOZA

Hughes Community Center

We are hosting our 4th annual CHOCOPALOOZA to benefit Teen Reach Adventure Camp (TRAC) and Royal Family Kids Camp (RFKC), two organizations dedicated to providing faith-based summer camps for foster children in our area.

$5 at entry gets you the opportunity to partake in this very unique event. To-go trays will be an option but please no doggy bags. Vendor booths are available for $30 and are an incredible way to advance your small business or organization. For further information on booths contact one of the event hosts.

The funds go towards a cost-free experience for these kids that provides an opportunity to gain new friends, support, and most importantly an opportunity to become closer to Christ through programs and curriculum designed specifically for the unique needs of foster children. RFKC focuses on foster children between 6-12 yrs old and TRAC focuses on fosters and at-risk teens between the ages of 12-16. Please come out and support these kids and learn more about the foster system in our area.

Lots of local shops and restaurants on South Main Street also run specials on the first Friday evening of each month.

How does it work? Everyone brings a book THEY LOVE and leaves with a book recommended by another book club attendee. You’ll be able to peruse the books, make friends with like-minded readers or explore genres you’re not used to with new pals. Mingle with fellow bookworms, enjoy refreshments, and talk about your favorite tomes. Maybe even meet your new best book pal. We’ll meet again in a couple of months, so you’ve got some time to enjoy your new book suggestion even if you have a busy schedule. When we meet again, you can bring back that same book or bring a different book you love. If you want to bring more than one book, please do! You can add two books to the exchange pile and if you bring more, feel free to exchange them with other guests after the main event. Please be ok with letting your book walk off with a stranger for good in case our bookworm friends don’t bring it back. And PLEASE bring a book you really love, not all the old cookbooks you need to unload from your shelves and PLEASE no religious books of any sort
