Intro Wheel Throwing Pottery Class

River Valley Arts Center

A class for adults. Students will learn how to center clay, open, and pull up walls to make bowls, cups, and plates. Pulling handles and attaching pieces to pots, as well as some trimming will be demonstrated. There will be a variety of glazes to choose from and many decorative options.

An 8 Week Class on Friday nights.

Kids Hand Building Pottery Class

River Valley Arts Center

In this introduction to hand building in clay, kids will learn how to make coil pots, slab pots, drape mold pots, and pinch pots. Instructor Tommy Ketcheside will give demo on each technique and will guide them into making something fun. There will be a variety of glazes for children to choose from and several decorative options.

An 8 Week Class on Saturdays
$225 for Members (yearly student membership is $25)
$275 for non-members

Kids 4-7 years old will need an adult to stay during class, this is no extra cost.

Adult One Day Pottery Workshop - Slab Built Mugs

During this two hour class, students will hand build their piece with guidance from instructor Tommy Ketcheside, then decorate with textures, attachments, etc. Once the piece is finished, students will paint them with underglaze which will then be left for instructor to fire, apply clear glaze, and fired again for students to pick up at a later date.
