Stand-Up Comedy with Vince Royale

Currently living in Los Angeles, the former homeless salesman turned to stand up comedian/actor has been seen on the Netflix original series "Cooking On High", "Laughs" on Fox, “Stand Up and Deliver” on Hulu, "Not for Nothin" on Amazon Prime, and currently on the horror comedy film "Attack of the Killer Donuts" on Showtime.

Vince has been regularly performing in Los Angeles hot spots, and New York nightclubs, and touring internationally for over a decade. Vince is extremely down-to-earth and full of charisma and he has an uncanny ability to turn the things he sees into hilarity.

Book Reading and Signing with David Lee Holcomb

Ozark Folkways

Join local writer/artist David Lee Holcomb for a preview of his premier book, The Bone Doll. Pick up a signed copy for yourself and your friends. Plus enjoy snacks and good company!

The Bone Doll - Is personal identity something that we generate from within ourselves, or is it something imposed on us by loved ones, by career, or by the people and circumstances that we encounter in the course of our lives?

Matt Wheelock and Michelle Lomax find their marriage disintegrating, and they turn to a charismatic philosopher known only as the Teacher for guidance and support. The Teacher, seemingly a man without an identity or even a name, tells them of a sublime universe of mind beyond our own material plane, concealed by the machinations of an unseen conspiracy that benefits from the status quo and will fight to maintain it.

When two of the Teacher’s acolytes die in a very public act of suicide, his odd assortment of disciples find themselves drawn into his world of deception and paranoia. The Teacher and his followers throw themselves into a chaotic trek across Mexico and Central America, running toward a haven that only he knows, and from a threat that only he can identify. Along the way, they all find their most fundamental assumptions about who they are being challenged. Some will return unscathed, others will be changed forever – and some won’t make it back at all. At the end of the road, Matt and Michelle will find that not only are there no answers to the questions they started out with but that the questions themselves no longer have any meaning.

David Lee Holcomb - David Lee Holcomb was born on a military base in Montgomery, Alabama, during the early years of the Civil Rights movement and grew up in a small cotton town in the northern part of the state. Educated in Birmingham, another center of civil and social change, he worked in live theater, waited tables, and illustrated supermarket ads until he found his way into the broadcast television industry. For the next quarter-century, he worked in television news in Birmingham, Miami/Fort Lauderdale, and Dallas. David now lives in a cabin in rural northwest Arkansas where he grows orchids, plays the tenor saxophone, paints, and writes novels.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Good luck keeping up with Cody Hibbard. The Adair, Oklahoma native grew up running and working on the family farm with dreams that spread across the horizon.

Music was always a love for Cody but wouldn’t be the passion until well after high school. Cody attended the United States Naval Academy where injuries would bring him to a different part of his life, Pipelining.

Working consistently and constantly running the roads brought new light to the small-town kid, which would lead him to picking up a guitar around the campgrounds and start finding the love to sing around his fellow blue-collar workers.

In the Spring of 2019, Cody stopped off to eat with some friends on the way to another pipeline job. Their waiter stopped Cody from ordering with a very common phrase to him, “you don’t sound how you look.” One friend would reply, “you think that’s weird, you ought to hear him sing.” One thing led to another, a guitar was broke out, and Cody was asked to come back and start singing bar gigs.

He found a deep love for writing music soon after and recorded his first single, Half Whiskey, Half Lonely at Rosewood Studios, which dropped September 2019.

Cody would release his first EP, Memory and a Dirt Road in January of 2020 which has garnished millions of streams followed by his hit singles Ice Cold Therapy, Armed and Dangerous, and The Truth in the summer of 2020. In October 2021, Cody would drop his self-titled EP which has helped him put together a strenuous touring schedule.

Starting a music career is not easy and it sure isn’t easy to start one during a pandemic, but Cody and his team have been able to put out the music they want to put out, the way they want to, and find success doing so. At the end of the day, Cody just wants to continue to run and prove that dreams are fueled by hard work and drive.

With an extensive and amazing track record of unique and imaginative performances featuring his curious instrument and copious amounts of originality, Mike Silverman, a/k/a That1Guy, has set himself apart as a true one-of-a-kind talent that rivals any other artist currently in the entertainment industry. Averaging 150-200 shows a year all over North America and Canada, he has been a consistent favorite at such festivals as: Wakarusa, Electric Forest, Big Day out, All Good Music Festival, Bella, High Sierra Music Festival, Summer Meltdown, Montreal Jazz Festival, and many more. He was also the ʻTap Water Award’ winner at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for best musical act. His legendary collaboration and multiple tours with Buckethead performing as The Frankenstein Brothers has further cemented his virtuoso story as a creative visionary.

His innovation continues to soar with his latest tour, That1Guy & The Magic Pipe Present: An Evening of Musical Magical Wonder... The Likes of Which Ye Haven't Yet Seen, which kicked off in 2014. Along with his pioneering main instrument, The Magic Pipe, a monstrosity of metal, strings, and electronics, he facilitates the dynamic live creation of music and magic in ways only That1Guy can conjure. You can also expect to see magic seamlessly integrated into the already clever performance. With the addition of magic in his live shows, he has legitimately achieved an all-inclusive audio/visual performance unlike anything experienced before. “So much of my music has miraculous qualities to it because it’s hard to tell what’s going on. There are lots of slights of hand and sonic misdirection. It feels like I was meant to do magic”.

Silverman’s back-story is similar to many musicians that have come before him. He grew up a self-proclaimed music geek, soaked in the influence of his jazz musician father, and enrolled in San Francisco Conservatory of Music before joining the local jazz scene himself as a sought-after percussive bassist. This is where the similarities end though and where That1Guy truly began. “In my case, being a bass player, I just felt very restricted by the instrument itself,” he says. “I’ve always wanted to sound different and have my own sound. I was headed that way on the bass, but for me to fully realize what I was hearing in my head sonically I was going to have to do it my way”. His influential and innovative double bass style eventually evolved into what we see today as That1Guy and The Magic Pipe.

As his story continues to develop, Billboard has famously noted, “In the case of Mike Silverman’s slamming, futuristic funk act... the normal rules of biology just don’t apply.” In addition, Silverman also has new music and videos in the works for 2015 that will further validate his status as an industry trailblazer. “I like being my own person”, he says. “I didn’t set out to be a weirdo, but I’m starting to embrace it”. Ultimately, his motivation can be encapsulated as this: “Human beings do our best work when we’re challenged and pushed up against the wall”. That1Guy goes on to further explain, “By nature, we’re hunters and gatherers, spending each day looking for their next meal. It’s easy to be lazy when you don’t have to come up with something creative right away.”
