AMFA’s artist-in-residence program opens with Chakaia Booker, a contemporary American artist whose work is currently on view in Chakaia Booker: Intentional Risks, the inaugural exhibition of the Robyn and John Horn Gallery.
Booker, who is internationally recognized for her monumental, abstract sculptures, has also been creating abstract chine collé prints for over a decade at the EFA Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop in New York City, the oldest and longest-running community print shop in the United States.
Since 2015, Booker has collaborated with Master Printer Justin Sanz, and during this Artist Talk, they will discuss Booker’s artistic process and how her body of work has evolved throughout their ongoing collaboration.

There will be various cooks out creating some squirrel inspired yummy goodness just for you to try! These one of a kind dishes will be available while supplies last both days so come early to taste and stay late enjoying the rest this event has to offer!
Not only will we have squirrel dishes to taste, we will have our hayrides going as well through the farm! While on the hayride be sure to be looking for all of the hidden squirrels and see if you can spot them all! After the hayride take a run through the hay bale maze or slide down our hay bale pyramid slides! You might even get to catch one of our pig races (every hour on the hour) and cheer on your favorite piggy! Our lawn games will be out for you to enjoy while you listen to the live band and sip on your favorite wine from River Bottom Winery! Don't forget to come hungry and enjoy lunch from one of our 3 food trucks! You can also snap a picture with one of our many fall photo ops that will be available throughout the farm and even pick your own pumpkin from our pumpkin patch! We will have all of your fall favorites available during this event and ALL of the squirrel apparel you could ever hope for, so don't miss out! There is something for the entire family to enjoy!

Join us as we learn about the history of the Old Military Road Trail and the Trail of Tears. This program will last an hour and will consist of hiking 1.5-miles. Please bring water and wear comfortable hiking shoes. This is a free family-friendly event that requires no registration. If there is inclement weather during the time of this guided hike, an alternative program about the Trail of Tears will be located inside the visitor center theater room.

Complete a necklace, create your own Polymer clay pendant, and make a matching ring if desired. Learn the basics of combing colors, baking, sanding and assembly from local clay artist Danya Golden of Golden Art. Students will explore colors and finishes with alcohol inks and resin to achieve stunning effects while learning the tools of the trade used by clay artists and jewelry designers.
Materials are not included in the ticket price, everything you need to assemble your pieces is available at Argenta Bead and can vary in price depending on the style chosen. Many options are available for under $10 total, including the cost of the clay. You will make enough of your own customized clay to fill multiple jewelry bezels so the material cost will also vary depending on how many pieces you end up making.
