FREE Lecture: Forestry Gardening
550 Arkridge Rd, Hot Springs, AR
Please join us for a free lecture on Forestry Gardening in the Magnolia room on July 13. Pre-registration is required and does not include entry to the Gardens.
A food forest is a garden that is modelled after natural ecosystems found in forests. Food Forests include trees, shrubs, herbs, and other plants that work together to create a self-sustaining system. The goal of a food forest is to produce an abundance of food with minimal effort from the gardener.
Backyard Food forests have become increasingly popular in urban areas and they have many advantages over traditional gardens. Here are a few reasons why:
*You can grow a wide variety of fruits and vegetables in a small backyard food forest.
*Backyard food forests require less water than traditional gardens and they don't rely on fertilizers or pesticides.
*Backyard food forests improve soil health and combat climate change by absorbing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and storing it in leaves, stems and roots.

ALL WHEELS WELCOME!
This is a FREE event for all ages.
This is the 5th annual Worldwide Rollout Day, and the 3rd year hosted in Arkansas. We are always so excited to showcase the beautiful trail system in Fayetteville.
Founded by our friend @SKATEFANTACEE in 2020, the vision is simple: all wheels, all inclusive, rolling together all over the world. We are just one location among hundreds of cities participating in this worldwide event. Let's show everyone how Arkansas rolls!
DATE: Sunday July 14, 2024
TIME: Meetup at 6pm- gear up and socialize. Rollout at 7pm!
LOCATION: Lake Fayetteville Trail loop (5.25 miles of smooth, paved surface). Closed course - no streets to cross.
START: Meetup is near the marina at 1330 E Lake Fayetteville Rd. Parking is available there, at Veteran's park, and the lot south of the Botanical gardens. There are 3 restrooms along the route, 4 water-filling stations, and bike repair stations. Take your time and enjoy the scenery- this is a leisurely roll and not a race! The loop is fairly level and a good for all levels!
WHAT TO BRING: A good attitude, your own set of wheels, safety gear (recommended), and plenty of hydration.
