Distance is approximately 2.5 miles, covering rolling terrain, moderate in difficulty.

Meet Park Interpreter Jake to watch the sunset from one of the most scenic and romantic overlooks in the park. This beautiful overlook has sat as a part of the park since the CCC built it in the 1930s. Many have come to watch the sunset from this spot, and you can join the tradition! This year our Super Bowl Party and Chili Cook-off will benefit our youth and young adult ministries. Tickets will be sold prior to the event or day off. Come enjoy the super bowl with all you can eat chili, beer or wine for those over 21+, and in community with each other.
Youth Tickets (ages 20 and under) are $5 and will include chili, hot dogs, chips, and sodas/drinks.
Adult Tickets (ages 21+) are $10 each with the same above options, with the option to have two alcoholic beverages.
We are looking for 12 entries to our Chili Cook-off, with three categories people can vote on. Muffin tins will be available to sample chili or bring yours from home!

We will explore the Mississippian Culture featuring the people who lived in Arkansas from A.D. 1400 to 1650. Participants will see a head effigy and many other Arkansas Native American cultural items. After programming, the society will elect board members and announce plans for the year. The Plum Bayou Mounds site is one of the largest and most impressive archeological sites in the Lower Mississippi River Valley. Occupied by American Indians from about 650 to 1050 AD, this site is home to a group of ancient earthworks that once made up a large ceremonial site. Aboard a motorized tram, visitors will join a park interpreter for a guided tour of the 3/4-mile Knapp Trail and learn more about these structures and the people who built them.
