Get away from the fuss and flurry of the modern city and come to where holidays are about people and craftsmanship is done by hand. Shop the Ozark Folk Center State Park Craft Village during the Ozark Holidays Craft Show on Saturday, November 25, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free. Artisans will be set up in their workshops. Guest crafters will be in shops throughout the Village. The Heirloom Kitchen will be serving soups, salads, sandwiches and artisan baked treats.
Entrance to the Village is through the gates below the visitor center or below the Ozark Highlands Theater. Parking is available next to the gates.
It’s challenging in today’s world to find unique, high quality, handcrafted items for gifts or for your own household. The Ozark Folk Center State Park is home to more than 30 resident master crafts people in a variety of fine and functional crafts. Located in Mountain View, Arkansas, the park was founded and continues to perpetuate craftsmanship through workshops, classes, and providing studio space for master crafts people, apprentices, and students.

Enjoy Lake Fort Smith State Park's history, scenery, geology, wildlife, and possible waterfalls on this boating adventure! Meet Park Interpreter Mystina at the marina dock. Binoculars and life vests are provided. Pre-registration is required by 9 a.m., and space is limited. Register and pay at the visitor center. This activity is dependent on weather and lake conditions.

This is a Free Event. This is the USACE Campground. We are stewards of it. Come Together Fairfield Bay. We will be at the Pavilion by the swim area. All donations accepted online. Tax deductions are available upon request. All money given goes into a dedicated account for the Campground only. We will be around the campfire roasting S'mores and talking positive about our love of Fairfield Bay and the surrounding communities. Bring your own roasting stick, and chair. We'll have the chocolate and marshmallows, and goodies.

Meeting Place: Lake Austell Boat Ramp Parking Lot
Join us as we learn about the history of the Old Military Road Trail and the Trail of Tears. This program will last an hour and will consist of hiking 1.5-miles. Please bring water and wear comfortable hiking shoes. This is a free family-friendly event that requires no registration. If there is inclement weather during the time of this guided hike, an alternative program about the Trail of Tears will be located inside the visitor center theater room.

The Plum Bayou Mounds site is one of the largest and most impressive archeological sites in the Lower Mississippi River Valley. Occupied by American Indians from about 650 to 1050 AD, this site is home to a group of ancient earthworks that once made up a large ceremonial site. Aboard a motorized tram, visitors will join a park interpreter for a guided tour of the 3/4-mile Knapp Trail and learn more about these structures and the people who built them.
