Dripstone Trail

The Dripstone Trail is a half-mile guided tour through the upper level of the caverns, accessible year-round. This one-hour tour is suitable for all ages and abilities, with paved paths and handrails making it wheelchair and stroller-friendly. Discovery Trail

For those seeking more adventure, the Discovery Trail offers a 1.2-mile journey through the middle level of the caverns. Available from May through September, this tour includes nearly 700 stair steps and takes about 1.5 hours. It follows the path of early explorers and features the underground stream that eventually forms Blanchard Springs.

Wild Cave Tour

Currently unavailable, the Wild Cave Tour is perfect for thrill-seekers. This tour explores undeveloped sections of the caverns, requiring participants to climb, crawl, and navigate through red clay mud. It ends at the spectacular Titans, a group of towering columns.

  • Cave Safety: To prevent the spread of White Nose Syndrome among bats, all caves and mines on National Forest lands, except Blanchard Springs Caverns, are closed to the public.

  • Cave Weather: The caverns maintain a constant temperature of 58°F with nearly 100% humidity. Visitors are advised to wear low-heeled, nonslip shoes and bring a lightweight jacket.

  • Reservations: Tour reservations are highly recommended, especially during peak seasons. Group discounts are available for parties of 15 or more with advance reservations. Book online at www.recreation.gov or call (877) 444-6777.
