The Great Backyard Campout

Online Event
Saturday, June 6, 2020 from 3:30 PM – Jun 7 at 7:30 AM
Hosted by Reed Park & Community CenterOxley Nature CenterCentral Center in Centennial ParkWaterWorks Art CenterLacy Park & Community CenterHicks ParkJane A. Malone Center in Chamberlain ParkTulsa Parks and Whiteside Park & Community Center

www.eventbrite.com

Feeling cooped inside despite this beautiful spring weather? Yeah, we have that feeling too. It’s pretty “in-tents”! (Get it?!)

Well, that’s why Tulsa Parks is proud to host the first-ever Great Backyard Campout! Many parks and campgrounds are still closed, and because it is so important to keep our social distances at this time, we want to help get everyone out of the house into the great…BACKYARD!

Yes, in fact, your own backyard is a great place to get outdoors, enjoy the creature comforts of nature and make some memories with your household. Join us for this virtual event on Sat-Sun, June 6-7, and register on Eventbrite for emails with information and resources that will help you plan and pull off a campout with the works!

We’ll have how-to camping videos, family activities, cooking recipes and tips, story time, after-hours parents/adult party and more. The best part is the event is free and all you need to do is sign up!

Before the event, we will help you have everything you need for a fun night and morning by posting a supplies checklist, optional schedule and camping tutorial videos right here on Facebook so you can make the most of the campout with your family.

If you don’t have a backyard that’s OK too! You can build a fort in your living room or campout on your porch or balcony. The minimum you will need is a tent and bedding. We’ll also have videos on how to build and cook on a fire.

Whatever you do this weekend, spend it with someone you love! ❤️
