State Park with their creation of the original 1930s-built dam, lake, and recreation facility that later became the original Lake Fort Smith State Park. Join Park Interpreter Mystina in the visitor center Theater Room to explore the park's WPA legacy and then enjoy a video documentary about FDR and his WPA.

Lake Dardanelle State Park is proud to offer free winter lake cruises for the best chance of seeing our national symbol, the American bald eagle, weather permitting. Many other spectacular birds will be in the area for viewing including American white pelicans, numerous ducks, and snow geese. Please dress warmly as temperatures and winds are more severe on the lake. Call the visitor center at (479) 967-5516 to reserve your seat. We will begin boarding 15 minutes before the tour, at the boat dock near the tournament weigh-in facility.
