The year is 1941, America is rebounding from The Great Depression, and WWII has not yet begun. There is a feeling of optimism in the country, and in Fayetteville. The Reverend Sam Yancey is determined to make Mount Sequoyah a centerpiece of Arkansas.

Rev. Yancey and his lovely wife invite you to join them for a formal Gala in Parker Hall to raise awareness for the 1942 plan to add cottages to the budding Mount Sequoyah Conference Center. There will be delightful finger foods, refreshing beverages and top notch entertainment. Our featured performer is the illustrious Ella Fitzgerald, singing her famous hit Penny the Poocher. Here’s to looking at a glamourous and decadent evening, where surely no one dies.

Choose between a Friday or Saturday night. Your ticket will include drinks and light appetizers. We will begin the evening at Parker Hall. We will be visiting multiple buildings on Mount Sequoyah's campus so while we highly encourage dressing for the occasion, we do want you to know that you will be walking outside to get from building to building. oin the Little Rock Roadrunners at Leiva's Coffee on Saturday, September 14th at 7am for our monthly coffee run! This month is a little early due to Grand Prix races the following two weekends!

If you would like to get in some extra miles a group will be starting at 6:30 AM before meeting up with the rest of the group at 7.

We will plan on doing the trail route. The trail route is a 5 mile loop that includes the William Kirsch Reserve within the Ranch North Woods. A little over a mile of this route is single track trail and ~3 miles is on grass/dirt. If you do not wish to run on trails, we have road routes of varying distances linked below.

Following your run or walk, stick around for some coffee, pastries and camaraderie. All are welcome! You do not have to be a club member to attend.

Join us for paint the character storytime at Fired Up! Our next book is "Weather Together" and the kids (and adults can also paint too, ALL ages are welcome to participate), will be painting a unicorn or a pegasus. Though everyone is encouraged to paint their character how their artistic mind leads them.

- The pieces are $15/each+tax per painter, price includes piece, paint and for us to clear glaze and fire. With tax total is $16.50 per painter.

- Only one adult per two kids when adults aren't paying to paint. We have to know how many adults are coming with every group to save seats. We cannot have any adults standing due to fire code. Comment, call or message us to let us know you've paid and reserve seats needed.

- Prepayment is required to attend. Once full we will announce we are full asap on our Facebook page.

Created by artist Monica Moore, The Hearts Project is an installation displayed in the RAM lobby that features 2,700 (of 13,068) hand-cut paper hearts, one for each Arkansan who lost their life to COVID. The hearts both symbolize lives lost and create a visual representation of the scope of the pandemic in our state.

Yes, that is Right! We are going to paint your Fur Baby. However, I will need you to email me a photograph of your Fur Baby NO LATER THAN Wednesday, September 11th. Send your email to: thepaintedsloth@gmail.com. Please make sure that it is a Clear photo so that I can create an outline for you to paint on the 14th!

Join us on Saturday, September 14th at 6:30 pm at Fired Up - Cabot for a fun evening painting the PAINT YOUR PET. Tickets are $35 and includes everything needed to create your masterpiece. YOU MUST PRE-PAY to save your spot!

This event is open to all ages and we paint in the painting area. No experience needed! Design will be sketched and ready to paint using acrylics. This is a fun 2 - 2.5 hour painting and I’ll walk you through it step-by-step.

Get a sense of the solar system’s scale as you scale Arkansas’ highpoint with a park interpreter at Mount Magazine State Park! This giant scale model will illuminate Earth's size relative to its planetary neighbors, as well as distances between each planet. This program will help the Girl Scouts work toward completion of Space Science Explorer (Daisy) and Space Science Adventurer (Brownie) badges. Expect somewhat uneven terrain on a mild 170-foot incline. Seasonally appropriate attire, drinking water, sturdy hiking shoes, insect repellent are all highly recommended. All ages are welcome, but children under 12 must be supervised by an adult. No food or beverages are allowed on the wagon.
