Winter at the Moose. Friday November 3rd from 3-8pm and Saturday November 4th from 9-4pm.
Friday will start at 3pm in the Field. Vendors are bringing their best Vintage, Antique, Primitive and re-purposed junk. The field will be lit up with lights and we will have a outdoor movie area featuring vintage holiday movies. We will have sweets, coffee and hot chocolate available while you shop and enjoy the movie.
Saturday starts at 9 with restocked booths, coffee, sweets and food trucks!
Admission is $5 a day. If you still have your arm band from Friday and you come back Saturday you admission is free.

The Dia de los Muertos celebration at Community Creative Center features art, a live dance performance, traditional food and drinks, and more! Artist Lupita Albarran will be teaching a ceramics workshop, where you can make a clay sugar skull. You will also have the opportunity to watch the Latin Art’s Organization’s Ballet Folklorico Herencia de Mexico perform a traditional folkloric dance. We will have Mexican hot chocolate, Pan de Muertos (Day of the Dead bread), and tamales available to attendees. We will also have an ofrenda (altar) set up to honor loved ones that have passed. This event is free and open to the public!

To celebrate this mountainous year, Mount Magazine State Park is hosting expert-guest speakers on a variety of topics that make Mount Magazine State Park special. Also, on the days leading up and day of this event, enjoy Centennial-themed specials from the Lodge’s Skycrest Restaurant, as well as some fun and engaging park interpreter-led Centennial-themed programs. The Plum Bayou Mounds site is one of the largest and most impressive archeological sites in the Lower Mississippi River Valley. Occupied by American Indians from about 650 to 1050 AD, this site is home to a group of ancient earthworks that once made up a large ceremonial site. Aboard a motorized tram, visitors will join a park interpreter for a guided tour of the 3/4-mile Knapp Trail and learn more about these structures and the people who built them.

Lake Dardanelle State Park is proud to offer free winter lake cruises for the best chance of seeing our national symbol, the American Bald Eagle. Many other spectacular birds will be in the area for viewing including American White Pelicans, numerous ducks, and Snow Geese. Please dress warmly as temperatures and winds are more severe on the lake. You must call the visitor center at 479-967-5516 to reserve your seat. We will begin boarding 15 minutes before the tour, at the boat dock near the Tournament Weigh-In Facility. (Weather permitting)

Wildflowers and butterflies are two of Mount Magazine State Park's most studied and valuable resources. Meet one of the original researchers and park volunteer Lori Spencer for a two-part program this afternoon. The first part of the program is on Mount Magazine State Park's wildflowers. After a short break, she will present another program focusing on the mountain's butterflies and how to attract them to your own yard. As the author of Arkansas Butterflies and Moths, Lori will be available to autograph her book.

Master Mycologist Jay Justice will join us once again for a fun and informative fall fungi foray focusing on native Arkansas edible, poisonous, and medicinal fall mushrooms. After a morning PowerPoint, we will break for brown bag lunch and then carpool down to the beautiful Winfrey Valley to forage. An afternoon identification and Q&A session will be followed by one of our ever popular tastings.
Jay Justice is a retired epidemiologist who formerly worked at the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality. He is a co-founder and scientific advisor for the Arkansas Mycological Society (1982) and a scientific advisor to the Cumberland Mycological Society as well as a chief mycologist for the Missouri Mycological Society.
$65 fee includes presentation, foraging, ID session, and tasting experience. Tickets are non-refundable.
Wear appropriate clothing for an outdoor hike and bring drinking water, insect repellent, a walking stick, and a brown paper bag for fungal finds.

Bring your dogs to the pool for an afternoon of fun for the whole family! Friends of the Animal Village's Annual Doggie Paddle Day event will take place at the Jim Dailey Fitness Center (300 S. Monroe St.).
This is the only day of the year that dogs will be allowed to swim and play in the two outdoor pools at War Memorial! Lots of dogs have had their first swim at Doggie Paddle Day!
The entry fee is $10 per dog and all breeds are welcome. There must be one human adult per dog. All proceeds from this event go to the Little Rock Animal Village.

Join us as we learn about Village Creek State Park's history, listen to the stories behind the name of Ben, and acknowledge the power your actions have at our park. Our hike will last about 45 minutes. The Big Ben Trail is a 0.5-mile moderately strenuous trail. Make sure you wear appropriate shoes, bring water, and wear insect repellant. This is a free family-friendly event that requires no registration. If there is inclement weather during the time of this program, the alternative location will be inside the visitor center in our Theater Room.
